I think that the difference lies between the words naked and nude. When working to take a good nude image, one is aware of the aesthetics of the endeavor, lighting, composition, etc.
At DA there are many naked male shots, often revealing that which would have been best left clothed.

no worries. my friend and i were discussing how to get male nude photos to be good....because for some reason there is this fine line between awesome and weird. any thoughts?
